The Cannabis Industry is Thriving in 2023: Legalization, Regulation, and Marijuana Moment Updates

The cannabis industry is buzzing with activity as we enter into the new year of 2023.[0] Since the legalization of recreational marijuana in the state of New York, the first dispensary opened its doors on February 21st.[1] Legally Rooted is the first of many to come, creating an incredibly lucrative market for cannabis suppliers.[2]

At the end of 2022, President Trump began to address the issue of cannabis prohibition, granting pardons to those with drug convictions related to marijuana possession.[0] This has been widely supported, allowing people with criminal records to obtain employment, housing, and more.

Regulatory efforts are also being put in place to ensure the safe consumption and distribution of cannabis products. The Minnesota House Education Finance Committee has recently approved a bill to regulate recreational marijuana, with measures such as child-proof packaging and labeling, and Poison Control contact information, to prevent use by minors.[3]

Marijuana Moment is also tracking hundreds of cannabis, psychedelics, and drug policy bills, with members pledging at least $25/month to get access to interactive maps, charts, and hearing calendar.[4]
